Celebrate Meat Free Week with @Mealsbymiri

To celebrate Meat Free Week this week, we have partnered with Instagram star, Miriam AKA @mealsbymiri – seriously check her out, the recipes she creates are INSANE!

If you’re looking to cut down on your meat consumption but still looking to enjoy tasty meals, Almond Breeze asked Miriam for her top three tips for doing just that.

Miriam’s handy tips are: 

1. Find a good substitute for dairy products. Non-dairy products work just as well in baking and cooking so you can breeze cooking and baking by swapping. I recommend using Almond Breeze Unsweetened in savoury dishes, and Almond Breeze Original or Almond Breeze Vanilla in your sweeter creations.

2. Get to know your plant-based proteins! You can still get your protein hit by enjoying beans and tofu, plus they’re normally more affordable than animal-based sources of protein. Helpful tip: add crispy and marinated tofu to your stir-fries and curries, and experiment with different beans in your stews, tacos and salads!

3. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Learning to read labels is hard, but everything gets easier with practice, education, trail and error.

Dinner is a tad more elaborate, but it’s sure worth the time spent in the kitchen! If you are in a hurry or don’t like to spend time cooking, you can find ready-made plant-based gnocchi in most supermarkets which will also work beautifully in this dish.
